Description
This course explains the key requirements of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and the Chain of Responsibility (CoR), which supports the safe and productive transport of goods and people by heavy vehicles.

The course includes an overview of the HVNL and Regulations, the primary CoR duties and obligations, and the responsibilities of supply chain parties to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety of transport activities.

What the course covers
• The requirements and obligations under the Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility.
• Responsibilities of supply chain parties in relation to fatigue management, speed compliance, load restraint, mass and dimension, vehicle safety, and roadworthiness.
• The roles of key parties in the supply chain, including the consignor, loading manager, loader/unloader, packer, prime contractor, employer, scheduler, operator, driver, consignee, and executive officer.
• The course also explains how the Heavy Vehicle National Law aligns with model Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation. It outlines enforcement provisions, including on-road compliance inspections and the different breach categories.
