This course outlines the general obligations and requirements for Dangerous Goods to ensure the safe storage, handing and transport which is vital to the safety of your staff, property, the environment and the wider community.

This awareness course is suitable for workers in a wide range of industries and for anyone looking to gain a basic understanding of Dangerous Goods and outlines the key issues and the general risk controls for managing dangerous goods which includes:
• An introduction to Dangerous Goods and how they differ from other hazardous substances and chemicals.
• The Australian Dangerous Goods Code.
• How to identify Dangerous Goods
• An overview of the 9 main classes of Dangerous Goods classes, their properties, divisions, UN number and packing groups.
• The safe storage of Dangerous Goods
• Placarding requirements for storage of Hazardous Chemicals and Dangerous Goods
• Safe handling of Dangerous Goods in the workplace
• The general requirements for transporting Dangerous Goods by Road and rail, and the requirements for transport documents, placard loads, emergency information holders
• Transporting Dangerous Goods by Air general rules and regulations for handling and transporting Dangerous Goods
• The regulations and standards for transporting Dangerous Goods by Sea.

Duration - Complete online at your own pace (Self-paced) approximately 45 minutes to complete.

Certificate - Upon successful completion of the Module and the assessment questions, participants will be issued with a Certificate of Completion.
